Technology and Design: If you are interested in becoming an IT professional, but need to enhance your skills and knowledge before you seek employment, the Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems will give you the advantage you need to attain your professional goals. This program prepares you with the general education, applied knowledge, technical skills, and work habits required for a wide range of entry-level positions in the field. You will gain the foundational skills necessary to install and maintain computer networks, troubleshoot hardware and software problems, manage databases, and develop Web pages. The emphasis areas allow you to choose to concentrate in programming, network administration and Web development.
Business Programs: If you're serious about advancing your career in business or starting a new one, Kaplan University is for you. All of our career-track business programs are taught by practicing professionals with theoretical, as well as hands-on knowledge.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing: The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is widely considered a standard requirement for registered nurses (R.N.s) seeking broader professional responsibilities and career opportunities. Kaplan University's degree program offers an accredited, online R.N. to B.S.N. degree completion program that centers around health promotion, risk reduction, disease prevention, information and health care technologies, ethics, human diversity, management theory, and health care system and policies. A defining feature of the curriculum is its increased focus on leadership. The program features a capstone course, a requisite clinical course, and a professional development plan that includes career planning. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is regionally accredited by NCA and has interim approval from the Iowa Board of Nursing. The program is scheduled for review to be considered for full approval in June 2006. This program is currently seeking national accreditation and will be reviewed by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) scheduled for November 2005. This program is not one hundred percent online: a lab will need to be completed and students must also participate in a clinical. The lab and clinical are required and will need to be completed in the state of licensure. BSN students are subject to these and additional policies published in the Nursing Student Handbook.
Paralegal Studies: As more lawyers join the workforce, the demand for qualified paralegals is rising. Enrolling in one of our accredited paralegal studies programs will help you advance your career in this field and make you a top employment prospect.
Criminal Justice Degree: If you want to work in the criminal justice field, the Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice will give you the advantage you need to maximize your chances of finding the job you want. Our program provides students with a solid foundation and breadth of understanding in the areas of law enforcement, courts, corrections, and security. This understanding, together with a liberal arts knowledge base and the technical skills required in various specialized employment areas, will serve you well as you build a successful career in the field.
