Does an online degree have the same credibilty as a traditional degree? | |
Answers:
1Well, all that matters is that the school is accredited by this chea organization, which accredited all colleges . If the college is not accredited it is probably a degree mill.
http://www.chea.org/search/search.asp use this link and search for the school. Devry is accredited, so maybe the school your looking at is. I know for a fact that Almeda university is not accredited (online university)
There is a bias towards physical schools, but most people don't really know what schools are good outside their area, which is one reason why degree mills are so prevalent. If accredited then everything should be fine.

no it does not.
high school programs or university programs offering diplomas online are mostly not even recognized in the "real world", which means you'll get a diploma, but it's going to be useless. useless, as in no university will accept you, because you went to "cyberhigh highschool" which either was not approved by the appropriate organization, or its just obvious to the university you're applying that you'll be lacking fundamental social skills.
so watch out for those "get your university degree online", "do high school online" programs - most are not recognized (only by their own, fraudulent organizations), and will thus not grant you anything but a diploma that you passed their courses - and this diploma won't be valid for the job you want / where you want to study further.
you're welcome
